Synergy Marine crew succcessfully carries out search & rescue at sea

Synergy Marine crew in the pacific endeavour

On 13th August, the crew of the Synergy-managed vessel, the Pacific Endeavor, while transiting the Straits of Gibraltar, spotted three people onboard a small boat, frantically waving their hands and blowing the whistle of their life jackets. In a split-second decision, the Master of the vessel Capt. Inguva V S Sastry, upheld the longstanding maritime tradition of rescuing seafarers onboard another vessel in distress and gave the go-ahead for the rescue operation, thus preserving the integrity of maritime search-and-rescue service. The Spanish authorities were informed about the situation and the planned rescue operations. The Pacific Endeavor had to do a series of manoeuvres to attempt the rescue of the vessel, a rubber dinghy which was partially deflated and taking on water . Once the vessel reached the dinghy, lines were thrown, and the crew proceeded to pull the three occupants out of the dinghy to safety. The Spanish authorities said, “We desire to show you our most sincere gratitude for the humanity and professionalism of the Captain and crew of your vessel PACIFIC ENDEAVOR, thanks to whom three persons have been rescued in the Spanish responsibility SAR waters. We expect that you transmit our gratitude to the Captain and crew of the vessel.”
