Synergy Marine Group awarded LowCarbonSG logo for sustainability in maritime

The Group is advancing a great many sustainability initiatives, aligning with our vision to create a more sustainable and environmentally responsible global shipping industry, and we were very pleased indeed when on 26th Mar, 2025 we won the right to use the LowCarbonSG logo, a testament to our continuous efforts in measuring, tracking, and reducing our carbon emissions in maritime operations.

The use of the LowCarbonSG logo is awarded to companies that demonstrate significant progress in measuring, monitoring and reducing their carbon footprint. Synergy Marine Group is committed to a sustainable shipping future, and this logo represents our dedication to tracking our organisation’s carbon emissions with the utmost diligence and taking proactive steps towards reducing our environmental impact. These very considerable efforts are in line with global sustainability goals, and we continue to explore innovative solutions to contribute to the welfare of our planet. We invite our customers, partners and the global maritime community to join us in our journey towards a more sustainable maritime industry. Together, we can make a significant impact and contribute to a greener, more sustainable world through maritime leadership.

Synergy Marine Group receives sustainability recognition at the Maritime Singapore LowCarbon50 Awards 2025

At Synergy Marine Group, sustainability in maritime isn’t just a headline, or a trend that comes and goes. It’s an enduring and shared responsibility that cuts across the Group’s teams, offices and managed vessels, and in proof of this we are honoured to have been recognised at the Maritime Singapore LowCarbon50 Awards 2025, a meaningful milestone in our ongoing maritime decarbonisation journey.

The award, presented by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), celebrates companies making real, measurable progress in carbon emissions reduction. It reflects Synergy’s efforts to not only track emissions accurately, through the Carbon Emissions Recording Tool, but to embed reduction strategies deep within operations.

From technical excellence and emissions transparency to our cross-functional ESG practices and consistent EcoVadis ratings, we have worked hard in order to turn sustainability into an operational habit.

“This award is a meaningful endorsement of our long-term approach—where decarbonisation is not treated as a siloed function, but as a shared responsibility across functions, disciplines and geographies,” said Jesper Kristensen, Group CEO.

Whether it’s digital platforms for performance monitoring, energy-saving initiatives like rotor sail trials, or building smarter, future-ready vessels—every step forward is thanks to our dedicated teams ashore and at sea.

The award was accepted on behalf of Synergy by Uttam Kumar, Director – IT, at the official ceremony in Singapore.

As we continue toward the IMO’s 2030 and 2050 maritime decarbonisation goals, Synergy remains committed to scalable, safety-first decarbonisation strategies that are as ambitious as they are achievable.

We thank MPA, GCNS and our peers in the maritime community for this recognition—and congratulate all award winners for driving positive change in our industry.
