Abhishek Kumar

Abhishek began his career at Synergy as a Technical Superintendent in 2012. Presently Fleet Manager, he administers a fleet of 25 ships, ensuring minimal downtime and total regulatory compliance. Abhishek believes that openness, honesty and freedom to express oneself in the workplace are the significant advantages of working at Synergy. He enjoys learning new technologies and travelling to distant locations.

Anurag Gupta

With two decades of maritime experience, Anurag is Synergy’s Marine Manager for LPG and LNG operations and is responsible for quality systems, ISM Code compliance and third party compliance on Synergy vessels. He is greatly inspired by the company’s teamwork, values and employee care, and likes to relax with karaoke and the challenge of video gaming with his daughter.

Ashish Sanyal

A physics graduate from presidency college, Kolkata, Ashish has close to 25 years of experience in the maritime industry. He manages the technical team and has shown great resilience in tough situations. His eye for detail, coupled with calculative decision-making skills have proven instrumental in Synergy’s growth.

Damanjeet Singh Bakshi

Damanjeet has 26 years of seagoing experience on bulk carriers and is currently Synergy’s Marine Manager and Designated Person Ashore — Dry Bulk Operations. He joined the company in 2013 and transferred to a shore role a year later. He values Synergy’s congenial atmosphere, flexibility and freedom of expression, and loves travelling, sports and films.

As a Technical Manager Daniel supervises 20 vessels, including tankers and container ships, and is involved in piloting next-generation digital solutions. As part of 17 years of maritime experience, Daniel joined Synergy in 2013. He believes that Synergy’s amicable work culture is a major asset, and loves long drives, trekking, hiking and exploring technology-based farming.

Capt. G.S. Arputharaj

After fifteen years experience on container vessels, Arputharaj came ashore in 2013 and has developed in various roles within the Group. Now a Designated Person Ashore and Company Security Officer, he leads a committed team in ensuring transparent asset management to the complete satisfaction of both owners and cargo interests, and has keen interest in music, cycling and long-distance running.

Ganesh Rajaraman

Having reached the rank of Chief Engineer, Ganesh has 22 years of seafaring and shore experience and has served Synergy with distinction since 2013. Now a Technical Manager, he considers that the oxygen of Synergy’s working atmosphere enables everyone fully to express themselves and raise ideas, and that efforts receive due recognition. His favourite pastimes are recreational reading and driving.

Hariprasad has three decades of experience in the maritime industry, including 14 years at sea. Having been with Synergy for over ten years he is now the Head – Technical, in charge of the technical staff who oversee the entire administration of Synergy’s vessels. Hariprasad enjoys Synergy’s open culture and team spirit and is an avid reader and film fan.

Krishnakumar overlooks the accounting operations for Synergy. His key strength lies in treasury and controlling cost through analysis of business drivers. Krishna strongly believes that understanding a business is the fundamental key to excel. It needs an eye for financial facts and decision support systems.

Mathavan Subbiah

Having been with Synergy since its inception, Mathavan sailed for 13 years and moved to shore management in 2005. He is responsible for identifying areas for improvement, developing systems and processes for future growth. He has a keen interest in photography.

Natarajan Duraisamy

Synergy’s Head of Purchase since 2021, Natarajan ensures consistency throughout the group’s purchasing procedures, focusing on cost reduction and supplies within budgets. Having sailed oil/chemical tankers since 1998, he joined as Synergy’s Technical Superintendent in 2014 and later became the Fleet Manager. Natarajan finds Synergy’s inclusive workplace and employee empowerment stimulating. Agriculture, badminton, and long drives are his passions.

As General Manager, Natarajan leads the Vessel Accounts Team. He has been a part of Synergy since 2014, amid 34 years of maritime experience. He admires the company’s people-oriented leadership for creating an environment conducive to innovation and success. Committed to local community service, Natarajan is also a firm believer in the generation of clean energy from water resources.

Priya Jaishankar

As Senior Manager — Purchase, Priya oversees a team of 50+ young professionals involved in purchase functions for Synergy’s vessels. She worked in Singapore’s networking industry as a procurement specialist prior to joining Synergy in 2007. Priya, an electrical engineer, also studied Business Management at IIT Chennai. Synergy, she believes, has enhanced her professional team spirit and people management abilities.

As Technical Head of ship management, UVR is responsible for technical management and corporate affairs. As a marine engineer with 30 years of experience, he is also involved with new projects and the development and implementation of the company’s business strategies.

Rajesh Inigo

Rajesh joined Synergy in 2012 after twelve years of sailing. As Technical Manager, he is accountable for ensuring an efficient and safe work environment, and an optimal level of maintenance by complying with applicable technical standards. Rajesh is a firm believer that Synergy’s goals are well-aligned with protecting the world’s ecosystems. He enjoys sports, listening to music, and long drives.

Technical Manager Rajiv is responsible for ensuring total client satisfaction and building long-term relationships. After 14 years of seafaring he joined Synergy in 2011 as a Technical Superintendent, and Synergy’s compassion for its employees echoes within him. Rajiv also appreciates the freedom he has to make decisions and organise his work, and his favourite hobbies are reading, music, and travel.

Capt. Ramadass Venkatrao

Ramadass is a qualified auditor and lead accident investigator, and is presently pursuing the advanced course at the Indian Maritime University. He sailed for 14 years before stepping ashore in 2003, and alongside other Synergy portfolios he is the QHSE Director. Ramadass describes Synergy as a place for learning which offers freedom to apply that. He loves playing the violin.

Sachin sailed for 17 years on oil and chemical tankers before joining Synergy as a Marine Superintendent in 2015. As a Marine Manager and Designated Person Ashore (Tankers), he now leads a committed tanker operations team. While working with Synergy he managed to complete his Business Management at IIT Chennai, which helped him enhance his positive team spirit and people management skills. He enjoys travelling with family, and exploring different cuisines.

Sameer Som Sharma

A result-oriented and committed professional with three decades of experience, Sameer is responsible for managing gas carriers at Synergy. He joined in 2014, when the first gas carrier pool was established. Sameer finds the Synergy experience rewarding for its work-life balance, adherence to high values and ethics and the ‘SMART’ workforce. He travels to the mountains and loves reading.

Sarath is a Master with 15 years of seagoing service and is now Head – New Projects at Synergy. Responsible for implementing new projects, he joined Synergy in 2009 and held various roles, including ship management. The purpose, passion, culture and team spirit at Synergy all appeal to Sarath, whose varied pastimes include reading, running, coaching and food and drink.

Shivaram went to sea in 1988, then after a first command in 2000 he came ashore in 2008 before joining Synergy in 2011. Heading bulk carrier marine operations, Shivram loves the camaraderie, growth and individuals within Synergy, which he believes best advertise the company’s empathy and inclusivity. He is very keen on maritime history, though music and reading are his first loves.

Sivakumar joined the Synergy family in 2012 and is currently a Fleet Manager, responsible for VLCCs, product and chemical tankers and car carriers. He came ashore in 2009 after 15 years at sea, and in his own words Synergy has given him an exceptional platform from which to demonstrate and refine his skills in order to advance in this profession.

Somasekhar believes that safe operations are the key to be a top-class ship manager. His core responsibility lies in offering easy implementable practical solutions to the issues from clients and onboard staff. He is also a sports enthusiast who believes in fair play.

Capt. Sony George Joseph

In a maritime career spanning twenty-five years, Sony has been working with Synergy since 2013 after moving into shore roles in 2010. As Head of the Insurance Department, his responsibilities include arranging insurance coverage for people, the environment, ships, machinery, and cargo. Sony loves working at Synergy because of its open and diverse workforce and the peerless flexibility it offers.

Capt. Swaminathan leads the People and Culture Team and had a central role in founding Synergy Maritime. With a long seagoing career, he has a flair for solving problems and breaking down complex issues. His primary responsibility is the Synergy corporate culture.

Capt. Syed Nazeer Ahamed

Nazeer joined Synergy’s QHSE team in 2014 after 17 years of seafaring on tankers, bulk carriers, car carriers, and containers. Currently a QHSE Manager, he is responsible for the development of policies and procedures, conducting incident investigations and safety performance reviews, and ensuring the learnings are adapted and shared across the organisation. Nazeer is devoted to his work, family, and friends.
