Synergy achieves the ISO 50001:2018 certification by Class NK

UN Sustainable Development Goals

The Geneva-based International Organization for Standardization (ISO) developed this Standard as a guidance for optimizing energy use by means of an Energy Management System, and in December 2021, Synergy Maritime Pvt Ltd, Chennai achieved this certification by ClassNK.

This certificate is valid in respect of our managed bulk carriers, oil and chemical tankers, gas carriers and other cargo vessels, and was granted following rigorous Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit of office space and an onboard audit of a sample vessel.

As one of comparatively few ship managers to achieve this we are thrilled to be part of what we hope is now a growing industry trend, with Energy Management Systems becoming ever more important, and remain confident that our efforts will further reduce our carbon footprint, increase sustainability and continue to make a major contribution towards net-zero emissions in shipping.

With an Energy Management System we take a systematic approach to smart energy use, establishing a framework for managing consumption, engaging progressively more renewable energy technology and further honouring our commitment to reduce energy consumption by vessels and related GHG emission.
