Delivering Next-Generation Vessels and Complex Retrofits

At Synergy Marine Group we understand that newbuilding is not merely about delivering a vessel – it is about co-creating a future-ready asset that is tailored to evolving operational realities and regulatory expectations. As trusted partners to shipowners, charterers and financiers across the globe, we bring together deep technical expertise, commercial insight and project execution rigour, in order to ensure  that every  new build is delivered to the highest standards of safety, sustainability and performance.

A Strategic Partner for the  Shipping of Tomorrow

Synergy’s Newbuilding and Special Projects team is structured to serve as an extension of the shipowner’s vision—helping to translate design intent into functional excellence. From early-stage feasibility studies to yard evaluation, plan approval and site supervision, we offer the full spectrum of services, all designed to de-risk complexity and optimise outcomes.

Our team has managed over 130 Newbuilding projects across container ships, bulk carriers, tankers, LNG carriers and gas-powered  dual fuel vessels. Each project involves a disciplined approach to benchmarking, precise budget adherence and rigorous quality control, including class liaison and regulatory compliance.

Innovation with Accountability

Innovation with Accountability

We incorporate cutting-edge features like air lubrication, shaft generators, hybrid energy storage systems and carbon capture readiness—always grounded in operational viability and ROI.

Design Review and Plan Approval

Our engineers conduct exhaustive reviews of machinery layout, energy efficiency features, automation systems and accommodation standards. Each design iteration is benchmarked against regulatory trends (such as IMO, EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime) and real-world operational scenarios – such as cold ironing compatibility,  slow steaming optimisation, and high-load tropical deployment—to ensure long-term performance and compliance.

Yard Selection and Site Supervision

Synergy deploys highly experienced site teams with decades of yard-level knowledge, including language familiarity and local regulatory expertise. Through close coordination with the yard, class and the owner’s team, we ensure:
  • Specification compliance
  • Critical path oversight
  • Timely resolution of technical queries
  • Proactive risk mitigation during construction
Our daily progress dashboards, quality assurance audits and material traceability systems offer transparency throughout the whole of the build cycle.

Digitalisation and Sustainability  at the Core

Every Synergy-supervised new build is designed with a forward-thinking digital and ESG blueprint. We integrate vessel performance monitoring systems, emission reduction technologies and alternative fuel readiness as part of our standard scope—always fully supporting our clients’ long-term decarbonisation goals. societies and OEMs ensure that Synergy-managed new builds are ready for upcoming compliance thresholds and value chain expectations.

Special Projects: Retrofitting for the Future

In addition to greenfield Newbuilding, our Special Projects division manages a wide range of retrofit programmes,  including:

  • Energy-saving devices (ESDs)
  • Ballast water treatment systems (BWTS)
  • Shaft power limitation (ShaPoLi) and EEXI compliance
  • Fuel conversions for methanol and LNG
  • Carbon capture system (CCS) integration

All retrofit projects are handled with the  same governance  rigor and cross-functional integration as our  New building  programme, ensuring seamless execution on board all vessels in service.

Dry Docking Project Management: Extending the Life of Your Asset

Recognising that value is created not just on a vessel’s delivery but also throughout its lifecycle, Synergy offers dedicated dry docking management services, and our teams plan and supervise these to ensure minimal off-hire, optimal cost control and thorough inspections.

We oversee:

  • Pre-docking technical preparation
  • Yard negotiation and selection
  • Scope definition and material planning
  • On-site execution
  • Post-docking performance and warranty tracking

Our ability to handle dry docking as part of a broader lifecycle management framework sets us apart as a true technical thought partner – not just a service provider.
