The Founder and Executive Chairman of Synergy Marine Group, Capt. Unni’s illustrious maritime career spans more than 30 years. Renowned for his innovative and forward-thinking leadership on sustainability, diversity and technology, and his ability to forge thought and technical partnerships with like-minded companies. A passionate marathoner, Captain Unni is vocal supporter of shipping’s net zero emissions ambition by 2050. He is a leading business creator, committed family man and determined philanthropist.

Ajay Chaudhry

A former Chief Engineer who sailed mainly on tankers, bulkers and container ships, Ajay is Chief Operating Officer – Dry Fleet and responsible for all of Synergy’s managed dry cargo ships. He joined in August 2022 after twenty-two years ashore which included two years as a Class Surveyor and leadership positions in Singapore and Hong Kong, and greatly admires the Group’s organisation, work culture and use of IT. Ajay likes to relax with family, films, badminton, hiking and walking.

Capt. Ajith Kumar P

Ajith became a Master amid two decades of seafaring. Now, Managing Director of Synergy’s Singapore DOC, he joined as a QHSE Superintendent in 2007. Ajith credits his professional success to the company’s utmost faith in him and working with the most excellent teammates anywhere. He loves exercising, kayaking, trekking, swimming and volunteering for local causes.

Ambar Sangwan

Ambar is Synergy’s Head of Strategy and is responsible for the Synergy’s strategic initiatives and plans. He was a tanker officer before moving to strategy roles and joined Synergy in 2020. With an MBA (Finance) from HEC Paris, Ambar has successfully handled complex cross-border M&A transactions and JV alliances and is part of the Synergy team that focuses on sustainable growth.

Capt. Anil Tejpal

Anil has worked in the maritime industry for over four decades, firstly at sea and later gaining much experience in management roles ashore. Harnessing his passion for business development, he leads the Customer Relationship Management team at Synergy. Very much a team player and a key motivator, Anil considers that organic growth flourishes within Synergy’s work atmosphere.

Born in Myanmar, Win has an M.Sc in Maritime Studies from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, and is now Synergy’s Managing Director and Head – Ship Management. Having begun his career in a shipyard, for 11 years he sailed on chemical tankers as a marine engineer, then in 2006 he joined Cosmic Ship Management, the predecessor of Synergy Marine Pvt Ltd.

Kalidindi Ramakrishana Raju

Raju has over 26 years experience at sea and also ashore in Hong Kong and Singapore, and is now responsible for a fleet of bulk carriers and containers, having been a Technical Manager with Synergy since 2019. Raju sees that daily challenges are efficiently resolved because Synergy teams work with commitment, and likes to unwind by hiking, cycling, and reading.

Singh has been in the marine industry since 1986, and has sailed on tankers and worked ashore in QHSE, operations and management. He joined Synergy in 2014 and is currently the Group Head (Ship Management) and Head, Gas Carriers Division. Synergy’s easy atmosphere allows him to think freely, and he is a staunch supporter of underprivileged students.

Capt. Rohit Banta

Rohit has over 33 years of Maritime experience and serves as the Head of Genco Synergy Ship management along with being the Synergy Groups Global Wellness Ambassador. He has been with Synergy since its inception and helped set up their various offices globally. He believes that the values, passion, respect and independence that an individual gets at Synergy helps a person grow both as an individual and a professional. He is an avid sportsman and loves reading non-fiction novels.

Sajikumar KS

After two decades as a marine engineer on container and ro-ro vessels, tankers, bulkers and self unloaders, Sajikumar came ashore in 2010, joining Synergy as a Technical Superintendent. A Technical Manager since 2014, he believes that being with Synergy has sustained his own professional growth, in valuing the vital human elements. Sajikumar enjoys film and playing tennis, volleyball and cricket.

Umesh Iyengar

After 20 years at sea, including five as Chief Engineer, Umesh joined Synergy as a Technical Superintendent in 2012. Now a Technical Manager, he leads an expert team of superintendents, and believes that Synergy’s vibrant and passionate teams have helped him grow both professionally and personally over the years. As pastimes he plays tennis and cricket, and enjoys film.

Vijay Nair is a Chartered Accountant and leads the finance operations for the Synergy Group. He has over two decades of experience in handling corporate accounts for leading ship management firms across the globe. He believes that a systematic approach always brings out the best outcome.

IMEC

IMPA

Synergy Marine Group is involved in IMPA Save’s initiative to reduce single-use water bottles at sea. The IMPA SAVE council comprises top global shipowners and suppliers, representing over 8000 vessels with significant combined purchasing influence.

Synergy Marine Group is a key participant in The All Aboard Alliance’s Diversity@Sea initiative. As one of eleven prominent maritime companies, we aim to foster inclusivity at sea and directly address challenges faced by women seafarers.
