Leadership Team

Presently the head of Synergy’s Dubai office, Thomas is also responsible for the group’s chemical tanker section. He has over 24 years of maritime experience, including sailing and managing chemical tankers from shore. Thomas has earned an MBA specialising in Finance and Operations from S P Jain School of Global Management. He believes adaptable leadership is the key to sustainability.

Capt. Thomas Varghese

Karthik began his maritime career in 2006 and joined Synergy Marine Group in 2019 as a Chief Engineer. He currently serves as Technical Manager, leading the technical teams based in Dubai and Dammam.
Guided by a belief in teamwork, transparency and continuous improvement, Karthik focuses on delivering practical, value-driven support to vessel owners while fostering collaboration across teams. Beyond work, he finds balance in gardening and reading.

Capt. Yazad Boomla

Yazad sailed for 16 years with a Hong Kong-based ship management company before moving ashore in 2016 to join Synergy. He has since led teams of marine superintendents managing chemical and oil tanker operations and values Synergy’s culture of psychological safety that fosters accountability and growth. Based in Dubai since 2023, he leads business development and partnerships across the GCC and MENA regions. He enjoys reading, cinema, and travel.

IMPA

Synergy Marine Group is involved in IMPA Save’s initiative to reduce single-use water bottles at sea. The IMPA SAVE council comprises top global shipowners and suppliers, representing over 8000 vessels with significant combined purchasing influence.

Synergy Marine Group is a key participant in The All Aboard Alliance’s Diversity@Sea initiative. As one of eleven prominent maritime companies, we aim to foster inclusivity at sea and directly address challenges faced by women seafarers.
