同賞は、2013年11月5日にロンドンでBPシッピングのジョン・リドグウェイ最高経営責任者(CEO)から授与され、船内に積極的な安全文化を確立するための効果的な新しいプログラムとして、シナジー社のLARP(Look, Act, Report, Prevent)が挙げられました。
LARPの下では、船員は危険な状況に気を配り、危害を防ぐためにすぐに行動し、LARPカードを使って報告することが奨励されており、船内の全員に共有されています。
LARPは、安全な職場づくりのために船員に力を与えるというシナジー・グループのコミットメントを反映して社内で開発されたもので、安全に対する認識が明確に奨励されるような変化がみられました。
