Synergy Maritime Recruitment Services Private Limited (SMRSPL), part of Synergy Marine Group, has received the Maritime Recruitment & Training Excellence Award at the IMC Golden Shield Excellence Awards 2026 in Goa, India.
The award recognises SMRSPL’s work in seafarer recruitment, crew management, maritime training, competency development and welfare, and how it continues to support seafarers beyond recruitment and deployment. Maneesh Pradhan, Chief Operating Officer – Crewing, received the award on behalf of the organisation.
SMRSPL links recruitment to continued professional development, vessel-specific competence and wellbeing, and prepares seafarers for changing vessel technology, alternative fuels and new regulation.
SMRSPL is applying the same approach in its work with Shipping Corporation of India and SCILAL. The two sides share an intent to work towards a Global Centre of Excellence framework for maritime capability development, starting with training and with scope to broaden into wider industry and institutional collaboration as shipping’s needs change.
Commenting on the award, Maneesh Pradhan said:
“Recruitment is only the beginning. Our responsibility is to ensure that seafarers continue to build the competence, confidence and support they need throughout their careers. This recognition belongs to the teams ashore and at sea who make that possible every day.”
Within Synergy Marine Group, crewing and training treat recruitment as the start of a longer relationship with the seafarer, one supported across a career through structured development, operational competence, safety and wellbeing.
The award adds to Synergy’s earlier recognition for the employment and development of Indian seafarers, including three consecutive National Maritime Day awards from 2024 to 2026.
