The Green Award Foundation awarded the first-ever ‘Green Award’ for a container vessel to Synergy Marine Group managed vessel the ‘Cap San Maleas’ in November 2021 for its commitment to best-in-class operations and environmental performance.

The Green Award is a voluntary inspection and audit scheme that certifies ships and managers only if they go “above and beyond industry standards in terms of safety, quality, and environmental performance”. Valid for three years, its certificates entitle holders to discounts on port dues and marine services and equipment and extra recognition on industry databases.

“The Green Award recognises ship managers in reaching the pinnacle in environmental performance, so we are delighted to be the first to achieve that with a container ship, and congratulations to our diligent crew and also the office teams at Synergy Maritime Pvt. Ltd who underwent this stringent audit”, said our founder and CEO, Captain Rajesh Unni.

Well done to all teams that participated in the Green Award Foundation audit!
