Part of the narrative of India’s expanding footprint on the global stage, National Maritime Day speaks eloquently to the country’s growing influence in the marine sector, and for us at Synergy the stewardship of over 650 vessels by more than 26,000 predominantly Indian seafarers is the very essence of what we do. It was delightful, therefore, and a great honour, recently to receive eminent industry recognition of how we do it.

On April 5, 2024, during the National Maritime Day celebrations, Synergy Maritime Pvt. Ltd. was awarded the top honour in the NMDC’s Recognition for Outstanding Foreign Employer of Indian Seafarers for shipboard berths above 1,000. This marks the first time our Group has received this prestigious award, previously dominated by other entities.

The award followed detailed submissions highlighting our:

These additional, varied, candid and penetrating details brought to life what it is to operate as a leading employer of Indian seafarers, with most of the details verified by ongoing and sometimes near contemporaneous media material, adding the further dimension of straightforward workaday credibility. This was not merely a purposive gathering of details – it was a proven anthology of crewing life at Synergy.

The award ceremony in Mumbai was attended by numerous key figures in the maritime industry, including India’s Director General of Shipping, Mr. Shyam Jagannathan IAS, and Captain B. K. Tyagi, Chairman and MD of The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. The award was presented to Maneesh Pradhan, MD for Crewing, Global Dry Fleet, marking a significant milestone for Synergy.
