Synergy Denmark team on MAERSK MARU celebrating MPA recognition for 5 years of PSC detention-free performance

For every ship that sails, the flag it flies represents more than nationality. It is a declaration of safety, accountability, and integrity. Since the age of sail, flags have symbolised both protection and responsibility, guiding mariners under shared values of professionalism and trust.

In September 2025, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) formally commended Synergy Denmark A/S for achieving five consecutive years of Port State Control (PSC) detention-free performance across all Singapore-registered vessels under its management.

The Certificate of Recognition, issued by Cheah Aun Aun, Director (Shipping) and Director of Marine, acknowledges Synergy’s sustained excellence in operational safety and regulatory compliance, a distinction few ship management companies achieve at this scale.

This recognition holds special meaning as Singapore is home to Synergy Marine Group’s global headquarters, where a culture of safety, innovation, and collaboration continues to evolve in partnership with the maritime community.

Across five perfect circles – symbolised by the vessel MAERSK MARU (“Maru” meaning “circle” in Japanese) – Synergy’s teams have maintained an unbroken record of PSC excellence. It is a reflection of unwavering commitment to safety, operational discipline, and the professionalism of seafarers who uphold the standards of every flag they sail under.

Port State Control inspections remain among the most rigorous measures of operational quality and regulatory compliance in global shipping. Achieving five consecutive years of detention-free operations across an entire fleet of Singapore-registered vessels demonstrates Synergy’s deep-rooted culture of excellence, one built on teamwork, accountability, and a shared dedication to safety at sea.

This milestone reinforces Synergy’s role as a trusted partner to flag administrations worldwide, consistently delivering compliance and confidence through disciplined management practices.

At Synergy Marine Group, safety is not merely a metric but a mindset. It is shaped by people who take pride in doing things right – seafarers, past and present, who have called these vessels home, and shore colleagues whose commitment keeps the Singapore flag and the Synergy spirit flying high.
