Synergy Denmark A/S and the whole of the Synergy Marine Group were very proud to host the penultimate day of this innovative and landmark five day program for leading UAE maritime executives, major Danish shipping interests and other core industry changemakers.
The gathering was in Copenhagen, where Synergy Denmark A/S is located, and under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, A.P. Moller-Maersk and Emirates Shipping Association, a body that unifies marine bodies and authorities across that seven-member federation, and the many interactive sessions explored the future of our industry through the lenses of sustainability, efficiency, technology and people.
Thursday 30 May was Synergy Day, and the Group was represented by Executive Chairman Rajesh Unni, Co-CEO, Ship Management Division HS Swaminathan, Synergy Denmark A/S MD and DOC Umesh Shinde and Chief Innovation Officer Prashsant Singh. Together with MB Shipbrokers and decarbonisation partners Azolla (led by their Business Head, Kiran Shet) the Synergy team steered the discussions on energy transition – the vital evolution from fossil to alternative fuels – and focussed on the need for major investment, continued innovation, workable regulations and worldwide collaboration so that we can reach Net Zero by 2050.

With main representatives Chairman Captain Abdulkareem Al Messabi, Board Member Dr. Waddah Ghanem Al Hashmi and General Manager Huma Qureshi, as part of hosting the closing ceremony Emirates Shipping Association gave special recognition to several bodies and people, including Umesh Shinde for his help in organising the event and optimising opportunities for linkage and dialogue.
These kind and encouraging sentiments were part of a large amount of very positive feedback which highlighted the success of the program and augured very well for further such initiatives, and we warmly thank the organisers, sponsors and all who attended for the generous support, keen wisdom and enthusiastic participation which resulted in more major steps along the pathway to 2050.
