Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of children worldwide by providing mobile healthcare facilities and also hospital accommodation, respite space and food for the families of youngsters who need specialist medical care far from home. In January 2024 the Synergy Marine Group organised a fundraising event at Houston in support of Ronald Macdonald House Charities Home – RMHC Greater Houston (rmhc houston.org), with great fun, much laughter and a strong maritime theme. An underwater setting ensured that, together with a mermaid, SpongeBob SquarePants and his aquatic friends were very much at home, and amid much face painting and dressing up there was energetic dance to the Baby Shark song and many others, all played by a DJ disguised in pirate costume.
As well as seeing the sheer enjoyment on the children’s faces, it was heartwarming to help raise money in support of an organisation that does so very much to support those who are seriously ill, and to underpin the simple truth that children get better quicker when their family is nearby. Helping to achieve that by allowing families to stay together at such a very difficult time is a major contribution to child welfare, and the Synergy Marine Group is proud to support this global charity.
