YM WAYFINDER LNG-powered Yang Ming containership during maiden call at Bremerhaven with commemorative plaque.

YM WAYFINDER, the 15,500 TEU-class LNG dual-fuel containership under the technical management of Synergy Marine Group, made her first call at Bremerhaven on 3 September 2026.

The occasion was marked aboard with a commemorative plaque bearing the Seestadt Bremerhaven crest. Bremerhaven Mayor Torsten Neuhoff was welcomed by Captain Mridul Upadhyay, Chief Engineer Jayvardhan Singh Chauhan and Synergy Marine Group CEO Jesper Kristensen, together with representatives from Yang Ming Shipping Europe and EUROGATE.

The Singapore-flagged YM WAYFINDER is fitted with a high-pressure dual-fuel main engine capable of operating on LNG or low-sulphur fuel oil. She is under Synergy’s technical management and trades between Asia and Northern Europe.

For Synergy, operating LNG-fuelled tonnage means combining the propulsion technology with crew competence and vessel-specific operating procedures. Relevant seafarers are trained in line with STCW Regulation V/3, while onboard procedures cover fuel handling, operation, maintenance and emergency response under the IGF Code.

YM WAYFINDER is the third vessel in Yang Ming’s five-ship series of 15,500 TEU LNG dual-fuel containerships, following YM WILLPOWER and YM WORTHINESS. She entered service in 2026 on Yang Ming’s Asia–North Europe network.

Jesper Kristensen had met the vessel’s crew during her maiden Singapore call in July and returned aboard at Bremerhaven six weeks later.
