Synergy champions seafarer wellbeing and diversity at CEO gathering
At the seventh Splash Maritime CEO Forum in Singapore on 23 September, senior shipping leaders, including Synergy Marine Group’s Co-CEO Captain Swaminathan Hari, addressed pressing maritime issues. Key discussions focused on enhancing seafarer wellbeing, mental health support and improving diversity with tailored initiatives for female seafarers. Synergy’s Chakra Scholarship initiative was also spotlighted, underscoring the company’s commitment to empowering the next generation of maritime professionals.

Synergy commits to decarbonisation and workforce development with MPA collaboration
Synergy Marine Group has further committed to advancing decarbonisation and work force development through its collaboration with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Co-CEO Ajay Chaudhry emphasised the critical need for an upskilled, safety-focused workforce to manage alternative fuels, and the Maritime Energy Training Facility aims to train 10,000 maritime professionals by 2030, preparing them to handle zero or near-zero emission fuels safely and effectively for a greener future.

Synergy joins OCIMF workshop on enclosed space safety
Synergy Marine Group participated alongside other industry leaders in a workshop on safe entry to enclosed spaces, hosted by the Oil Companies International Marine Forum. This collaborative effort brought together a wide range of stakeholders to tackle the pressing issue of onboard accidents and fatalities related to enclosed spaces. Synergy’s representatives, Umesh Shinde and Peter Hawkin, contributed to in-depth discussions focused on improving safety protocols, training and design standards to prevent these incidents.
