What is the Synergy Trainee ETO & GME Sponsorship Programme?

The Synergy Trainee ETO & GME Sponsorship Programme is a structured training initiative that prepares aspiring seafarers to become certified Electro-Technical Officers (ETO) and Marine Engineers (GME). Sponsored candidates receive classroom instruction, technical guidance, and placement opportunities aboard Synergy-managed vessels after successful completion of training.

Applicants must hold a degree or diploma in electrical, marine, or mechanical engineering from a recognised institution and meet the Director General of Shipping (DGS) eligibility norms. Candidates must also be medically fit as per ILO/IMO standards. Detailed criteria are available in the downloadable PDF flyer.

Eligible candidates can register online through the official Synergy Marine Group portal by 8 December 2025. After registration, applicants will receive a confirmation email with details on the exam centre, admit card, and reporting instructions.

The selection process includes:

  1. A written examination covering technical and aptitude subjects.
  2. A personal interview and medical fitness test for shortlisted candidates.
    Successful candidates will receive a sponsorship letter confirming admission to the programme.

Sponsored trainees gain access to structured classroom learning, simulation-based training, and onboard placements with Synergy Marine Group’s global fleet.
